It is classified a “Cité d'Art en Bretagne” (Breton Town of Art), and a “Ville Historique du Pays de Lorient” (Historic Town in the Lorient Area), in the heart of Southern Brittany.
This small town is located on the left bank of the Blavet river opposite the port of Lorient, and enjoys a sea view that includes the nearby Ile de Groix.
The “Port-Louis à pied” walking trail
Stroll through the town and discover its heritage! The “Port-Louis à pied” walking trail is made up of 21 plaques that explain the town’s historic heritage.
This 4-km stroll can be taken at your own pace. It starts near the Citadelle beside the ramparts near the Grande Plage beach.
